With richness on the palate that is supported with crisp notes of the perfect piece of sweet fruit. This Oakville Chardonnay is a perfect match for grilled seafood, fresh shell food and one of our personal favorites, roast chicken. A delight for tonight and this wine will also age over the next 3-5 years.
2018 was a near-perfect growing season started later than previous years, saw ideal weather conditions throughout and is coming to a close for a majority of wineries throughout the valley. Wines from the 2018 vintage are now quietly developing in cellars, and winemakers are pinching themselves and smiling for the gift it appears Mother Nature has given them.
The year began with abundant rainfall, followed by a mild Spring resulting in extended flowering with little shatter. A Labor Day weekend heatwave kicked harvest into high gear, then cool weather allowed sugar levels to return to normal. By October 8 nearly 90 percent of the 2017 grape tonnage was in when warm, fierce winds fueled an unprecedented firestorm. Napa Valley's winemakers remain committed to upholding the region's reputation for making some of the world's finest wines and early articles about the 2017 vintage describe the wines with words such as "finesse," "great complexity of flavor" and "elegant."
Rich and opulent Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Award winning wine - Gold Medal from the SF Chronicle Wine Competition.
An early bud break followed by warm weather and spring rains brought a rapid start to this year’s near perfect growing season in the valley. The fruit enjoyed beautiful weather during bud break and plenty of time to hang on the vines. Although yields were down due to drought, the berries were nice and plump, which resulted in a balanced and complex flavor profile.
Appellations: 60% Napa Valley, 25% Sonoma, 15% Mendocino
Our Cabernet Franc is inspired from the wines from the Loire Valley and Bordeaux. The wonderful Napa Valley warm days add a richness of fruit that marries with the old world tradition. The wine is a pretty red with hues of shades of blue. On the nose it has delicate notes of Rose, Violets, Exotic spices, dark cherry fruit with a hue of tobacco.
Our 2016 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon is dark and romantically rich. It has deep, dark velvet purple with notes of blue and red hues. Aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry, floral notes and spice all are intertwined with vanilla oak. On the palate the wine is luscious, bold, and full bodied. Just like the nose the palate is loaded with blackcurrant, dark cherries, and fine long tannins. The wine has a long rich finish. Pair with your favorite steak!
The Leaky Lake vineyard of clay and loam soils lead to a rich seductive fruit forward wine. Ripe, chewy tannins may be tempting to drink now although to really be impressed wait until 2021 and beyond. This is a big, rich, deep wine that is still youthful but will age for at least 10-15 years. Ideally eat with rich dishes such as prime rib roasts or ribeyes.
