Caspar Estate wines express the terroir of our property located in the Rutherford Appellation. Positioned on the sloping hillside just above the fog line overlooking Napa Valley, Caspar Estate provides an ideal, unique environment for Cabernet Sauvignon.
With a long cool vintage yielding a smaller crop, the 2010 Caspar Estate Cabernet Sauvignon delivers the epitome of balance with the intensity of dark fruits, soft acidity and structured tannins. Deep purple and dense color complement vibrant aromas of black cherry, bramble and currant which envelope softer notes of cedar and tobacco leaf as they lead into menthol and crushed rocks. The palate is compact showcasing dark fruit, cola and sarsaparilla with vibrancy found only in the vintage and terroir of Caspar Estate. The sweet notes of vanilla quickly expand into a rich and plummy mouth feel finishing with firm rounded tannins and a long finish. The building tannins and balanced acid profile suggests the 3rd vintage for Caspar Estate should age very well for years to come.
