|2012 Vintage Notes||
From beginning to end, 2012 afforded Napa with the ideal growing season. A mild spring led to a good fruit set, followed by summer and fall seasons that brought warm temperatures free of heat waves. All the fruit enjoyed a long, slow ripening, indicating early that the Cabernet Sauvignon would be dark, rich and age worthy as with the 2001, 2002, and 2007 seasons. The saturation of color is amazing - the wines are almost black, and the Bordeaux varieties are heavy with sweet tannins that are not drying at all.
|2012 Cultivar Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon||
Made from 100% Rutherford Mountain grapes and sourced from a single vineyard located on the Mayacamas Mountain Range, our 2012 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon represents both the uniqueness of the appellation as well as the qualities of the vintage. It is dark purple in color and coats the glass as you swirl it. Inhale and treat yourself to the comforting classic aromas of Rutherford: notes of cedar, tobacco, along with floral aromas and “Rutherford Dust,” a mix of bright cherries and undertones of cocoa and coffee. The wine is rich and long on the palate, loaded with dark cherry and plum fruits, with subtle tannins that provide the wine with structure.
