2013 Caspar Estate Cabernet Franc 3 Box Allocation
The 2013 Season: The 2013 growing season experienced a warm, dry spring. Early bud break helped with canopy vigor and berry size, and created ideal conditions for flowering and fruit-set under sunny skies. With the exception of one heat spike in late June, temperatures were consistently in the zone for optimal vine activity, resulting in notably healthy vines as fruit went through veraison and started ripening. 2013 is one of the finest vintages Napa Valley has seen.
2013 Caspar Estate Cabernet Franc Tasting Notes: The 2013 Cabernet Franc displays all the characteristics of the stunning 2013 vintage. The wine is a dark and intense purple with dark red undertones. Generous notes of dark cherry, raspberry, plum and cassis are followed by hints of tobacco and mocha. The French oak adds sweetness that brings the aromas together. On the palate, the wine is loaded with cherry and dark red cassis flavors exemplified by the exceptional 2013 vintage. The wine has balanced acid, structured tannins and a long rich finish. We produced 45 cases of this Estate Cabernet Franc and while it is tempting to it drink now this wine will also improve with age for the next seven to twelve years.
